Ontario commercial trucks do not wait on a three-day inspection queue. KG Truck Services runs DriveON annual and semi-annual safety inspections in Mississauga on a simple promise: in by 8, out by 3. Bring an inspection-ready tractor or combination by 8:00 a.m. and, on a typical truck without major defects, you have the certificate, the sticker, and the keys back by 3:00 p.m. the same day. That is the product. Everything else on this page is how we keep that clock honest.
What “in by 8, out by 3” requires of the truck
Same-day turnaround is for vehicles that can actually be inspected. The truck should start, hold air, and roll onto the lane under its own power. Lights should work or be close — we can fix lamps, but a dark trailer with no harness is not a 8-to-3 job. Brakes should not already be at the rivets if you expect to leave at 3:00 without authorizing repairs. If you know there is a defect, tell us when you book so parts are in the building before the truck is. The promise is speed on a ready truck, not magic on a neglected one.
DriveON replaced the old paper MVIS process with a digital tablet inspection at certified Vehicle Inspection Centres. Our technicians hold the required Skilled Trades Ontario credentials and DriveON training. Annual inspections, semi-annual inspections, and related commercial safety work are uploaded the way the Ministry expects. You are not leaving with a carbon copy that does not match the portal.
What we inspect on the clock
The checklist is the Ontario commercial standard, not a courtesy walkaround. Brakes and air system, tires and wheels, lighting, steering, suspension, fifth wheel and coupling, frame and body, fuel and exhaust, windshield and wipers, emergency equipment where required. Trailers get the same seriousness as tractors; a failed trailer still parks the load. If you need the combination certified, bring the combination. Dropping a trailer in the yard and asking us to imagine it does not produce a sticker you can use.
Defects do not automatically kill the same-day plan. Out-of-service items that we can repair in-house — adjustment, chambers, lights, air leaks, simple tire swaps when stock is here — often still finish in the afternoon if you authorize the work in the morning. Structural issues, waiting on special-order parts, or a truck that needs machining will miss 3:00. We will tell you that at the first look, not at 2:45.
Stack emissions on the same visit
Safety and emissions are separate DriveON services. You can book only the inspection, or you can add a heavy-duty diesel emissions test — opacity and OBD where required — while the truck is already here. That is how fleets clear plate renewal and the safety sticker in one day instead of two appointments. If the truck is likely to fail OBD, say so; we may need diagnostic time before a valid emissions test. Details live on our DriveON emissions page. Mention both when you call.
Book by calling (905) 564-0880. Ask for the morning safety lane and give us year, make, tractor vs tractor-and-trailer, and whether you also need emissions. Arrive by 8:00 a.m. at 6771 Columbus Road, Units 20 and 21, Mississauga. Shop hours extend past 3:00 — the 8-to-3 window is the inspection product, not the closing time. If you cannot make 8:00, call anyway; later arrivals still get inspected, they just are not on the same-day guarantee. Speed is the reason this page exists. Use it.
