Certified DOT safety inspections Mississauga for commercial trucks

A roadside inspection is not the place to find out a brake chamber is cracked or a light circuit has been dark for three weeks. KG Truck Services performs commercial vehicle safety inspections in Mississauga so your tractor and trailer are ready for the scale, the CVSA level pull-over, and the paperwork your safety officer actually needs. Whether you call it a DOT inspection, a pre-trip on steroids, or a shop inspection before a long run, the standard is the same: the truck that leaves Columbus Road should be able to pass a real check, not just look washed.

What we inspect

We go through the systems inspectors go through. Brakes: lining thickness, pushrod travel, air leaks, chambers, slack adjusters, drums or rotors, and tractor-trailer gladhands. Tires and wheels: tread, mismatch, loose lugs, and damaged rims. Lighting and electrical: headlights, markers, abs lamp, and trailer circuits. Steering and suspension: play, leaks, air bags, and U-bolts. Coupling: fifth wheel jaws, slider locks, and kingpin wear. Frame, exhaust, fuel tanks, and air tanks get a look as well, because a hanging tank strap or a leaking dryer will fail you as fast as a bald steer.

For drivers running into the United States, the language is “DOT.” For trucks that stay in Ontario, the legal product is often a DriveON annual or semi-annual inspection. We do both kinds of work in the same facility. If you need a certificate and a sticker under DriveON, book the safety inspection page and ask for in-by-8 turnaround. If you need a shop inspection before a border run or after a driver write-up, this is the service: find the defects, quote the repairs, fix what you authorize, and recheck.

Defects found are defects we can repair

An inspection-only lane that cannot touch brakes is a half service. KG is a full repair shop. Out-of-service items — brakes out of adjustment, lights, tires, air leaks, steering play — can usually be handled in the same visit. Alignment, differential leaks, and HVAC complaints that show up during the walkaround can be scheduled without sending the truck to a second vendor. That is how you keep a tractor earning instead of collecting estimates.

Fleets use this service as a gate. Before a truck goes back out after a driver complaint, or before you buy a used tractor, a documented inspection is cheaper than a surprise on the first loaded trip. We will write what we see. We will not sign off a truck that is not safe because someone needs it “just for tonight.”

Bring it ready, leave it legal

Show up with the trailer you actually run if the combination is what will be inspected. Bring current registration and any prior inspection documents. If you know there is a defect — a pull to the left, a leaking hub, a lamp out — tell us at the counter so we can plan parts. For Ontario-certified annual and semi-annual stickers with same-day turnaround, use our DriveON Safety Inspection booking. For a commercial condition inspection, a US-run prep, or a post-repair check, call (905) 564-0880 and ask for a DOT-style inspection bay.

The shop is at 6771 Columbus Road, Mississauga, with access from the 401 and 407. Owner-operators and logistics fleets are both welcome. The point of this service is not a clipboard for its own sake. It is a truck that can take a loaded trip without a red sticker and a conversation with an inspector that starts with “how long has that been like that?”
